What do I need to start driving?
- Valid driver's licence and clean driving record
- At least 25 years old
- At least 4 years of verifiable driving experience in Canada
- No major or serious driving convictions, and no more than 3 minor convictions in the past 3 years
- No more than 1 at-fault claim in the past 3 years, and no more than 3 claims in the past 6 years
- No more than 1 insurance cancellation for non-payment in the past 3 years
- Personal vehicle insurance, including the SEF 1-45 endorsement (see below)
- Background check (we handle this during signup)
- A vehicle that meets our standards (see below)
What are the vehicle requirements?
Your vehicle must:
- Be registered in your name and carry valid insurance
- Be a 4-door sedan, SUV, or minivan
- Be a model year within the last 10 years
- Have 200,000 km or less on the odometer
- Have a valid provincial safety certificate
- Have a working seat belt for every seat
- Be in good physical condition with no noticeable cosmetic damage
- Have snow tires or all-weather tires installed from November 1 through April 30
